Default Blood Really is Power

I want to start off my post by saying that I really liked my blood necro in Prophecies but when I went to Factions, everyone assumes or tried to make me go MM and I kinda lost interest in her. With the recent announcement that GW:EN won't be coming out until the holidays, I finally decided to take her over to Nightfall and found out that Nightfall is more friendly to other builds becides MM and SS, both of which I found kind of boring.
So I made the thread for those people thinking of making a necro or maybe want to try something new with theirs. So here is the build that I am using:
[skill]Vampiric Gaze[/skill][skill]Life Transfer[/skill][skill]Blood Ritual[/skill][skill]Well of Blood[/skill][skill]Resurrection Signet[/skill][skill]Empathy[/skill][skill]Backfire[/skill][skill]Power Spike[/skill]
I got 14 in Blood Magic, 10 in Soul Reaping, and 9 in Domination Magic.
So just post your thoughts or maybe a build that your using to try and break the mold.

Blood IS Power! but depends on what you are doing of course, so in some cases MM OWNS pve and sometimes even AB its really the diverty of the class that counts here so Necro rules ;D

Alot of your spells take too long to recharge. Once you use LT, it takes a massive 30secs to recharge....assuming you're using this build in pve, it probably won't even last it's full duration cause your team will have killed the target. Backfire does high damage, but this also takes abit of time to recharge. Vampiric Gaze isn't really that damaging......at least put 16 in blood. Empathy is decent. I'd replace Power Spike with Jaundiced Gaze since the damage isn't much lower, but it's spammable and unconditional.

Alot of Domination skills arn't that useful in pve. Their effects are usually very harmful, but they're also pretty conditional and have long recharge times. A few other effects such as e-denial just arn't worth using in pve.

What I do is I spam gaze, and I put empathy on all the mele enemies. On casters I will first use backfire and gaze, and since backfire has a long recharge, on the next caster enemy I will put life transfer on him and spam gaze. On the guy I put life transfer on I keep my finger on the "8" button in case I need to interrupt a spell. By the time I get the third caster, backfire will have recharged or really close to it, and I am able to repeat.

Move interrupts to 3 or 5 keys, much easier to interrupt 3/4 or 1 second spells with them there.

Life Transfer is really a subpar elite, and Empathy isn't worth it without at least 14+ Domination.

bind 6, 7, 8 to R, F, Shift, then you don't need to give up strafing when you press 6-8.

The recharge sucks, but why not put Mark of Subversion in?

I'll try out Mark of Subversion, see how I like it, but it seems like it wouldnt work as well as backfire from the wiki description. Backfire, at 9 domination, does 98 damage whenever a spell is cast in the next 10 seconds. Mark of Subversion steals 87 health at 14 blood magic when a spell is cast within the next 9 seconds. Not much difference but with the fast casting ele bosses in Nightfall that is a lot of damage being missed out upon.

I really enjoy playing my Yvi as a Blood Necro. (Though she hasn't traveled past the Desert in Tyria yet, so I haven't been able to change my secondary class (which is Monk) or get some of the spells I'd like to have yet. So far it works pretty well, but what do you think about N/MO for a Blood Necro?)
I don't really have the patience to play as a Minion Master... somehow it always feels "rushed", unless there are a lot of things dying in the area.

Personally i would have used something more like:

[skill]shadow strike[/skill][skill]Vampiric Gaze[/skill][skill]Well of Power[/skill][skill]Well of Blood[/skill][skill]Blood Ritual[/skill][skill]Awaken the Blood[/skill][skill]Signet of Lost Souls[/skill][skill]Rebirth[/skill]

Although its less effective on casters than your build it allows for continual team support while being able to deal considerable damage to all foes. If ur in a group that will stand in the wells more often you can also replace blood ritual with something more offensive. And Well Rebirth is there because i like having it for emergencys

Life Transfer is bad.

Backfire is bad.

Most blood magic elites blow except for Well of power, BiP and possibly OoV. I'd rather run a OoB hex spammer. >_>

EDIT : Spoil Victor OWNZZZZZZZZZZZ

Oh wow, I totally skipped Spoil Victor. My mistake.

Yes, Spoil Victor is THE blood necro for damage.

But Ravenous Gaze sucks, always has and always will.

I made this build with Vampiric Spirit, it's just a DA bomber but it uses more blood then death. And it lokked fitting to put it here. It gives alot of numbers (every1 likes that, but half of the numbers are dmg done to ureslef )

Blood: 15
Death: 11
SR: 9

Touch of Agony
Dark Pact
Jaundiced Gaze
Blood renewal
Vampiric Spirit [E]
Dark Aura
Consume Corpse
-free option-

Maintain Vampiric Spirit and DA. Use the Touch of agony to get in range. If u have agro use Blood renewal first for the regen and Jaundiced gaze for the extra life steal. Or u can use Dark Pact because it's cheaper.
Remember Touch of Agony is a skill and wil NOT trigger Vampiric Spirit.
Consume Corps is for health gain and more important for energy.

Let me know what u think about it, it's not original but I would like to know if I can improve it

One of my previous posts...

12+3+1 Blood Magic
9+1 Soul Reaping
10+1 Death Magic

Vampiric Spirit {E}
Dark Aura
Blood Renewal
Signet of Agony
Plague Sending
Blood of the Aggressor
Dark Pact
-optional-

Plague Sending activates both of your enchants since it's both a spell and a sacrifice. It adds 6 dps to your attacks thanks to Signet of Agony, which does damage in and of itself, and gives you an option to get rid of conditions that are put on you. You can put Consume Corpse or a res or whatever in the last slot. 16 Blood I find = more damage.

The signet of agony and plague sending combi looks nice. (just to be sure signets don't trigger vamp. spirit or do they??) I dont have nightfall but i can replace blood of the agressor with Jaundiced Gaze.

About the lv 15 bloodmagic I dont have a minor rune of deathmagic on my armor and i wanted dark aura to do at least some dmg. But i will get 1 soon.

thx for they reply I gonna tst it out

*Edit* It's so funny plague sending is in the curse line. It has nothing to do with the attribute line and its actualy a non atribute skill. But I totaly forgot about it because its in the curse line (useless edit btw :P) *Edit*

I might be completely idiotic here, but what if you echo Life Transfer?

I like life transfer...

If you echo life transfer then you will be able to use it on two different enemies simultainously.

To the people who commented on my build. I have taken it under great consideration and have decided to replace [skill]empathy[/skill]. I thought it would work better than it has because of dervishes ability to hit adjacent foes and heros liking to group together. But heros are smarter than I gave them credit for and they arent allowing that to happen. Havent decided whether to replace [skill]empathy[/skill] with [skill]dark pact[/skill] or [skill]shadow strike[/skill]. Thoughts?

P.S. I dont think I'm going to replace Life Transfer because it does 192 damage over 12 seconds while healing me for the same over that time.
